Rec List Update

As some of you might know, you can find all of my recs here at my delicious account. At the bottom of those post will be a copy/paste thing for you to comment with if you want me to read something and maybe put it on my rec list in the future.

Some of these are older, some of them may be newer. Shall we begin?

Doctor Who

Not The Last Of The Time Lords [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] nostalgia_lj
pairing: Donna/Ten
rating: FRM
summary: At the end of S4 the Doctor saves Donna by turning her into a Time Lord. This is the story of how that ruins his life.
why: It's funny crack, and Ten really is an angst!whore.

Underneath (pt 2) [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] not_poignant
pairing: Puck/Rachel
rating: FRAO
summary: I wish I could say a prompt inspired this, but really, just imagining Puck and Rachel doing dirty things together did.
why: Puck is still a dick, but this is hot, and he even cares for Rachel... in a way only Puck can.

I Had One in the Bathroom With No Windows [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] fuzzy_paint
pairing: Puck/Rachel
rating: FRAO
summary: He had no idea Rachel Berry partied.
why: It's hot and angsty, vaguely like a PWP with that bite of angst at the end that makes it not so much a PWP.

Nightmare [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] quiet_ingenue
pairing: Elle/Sylar
rating: FRT
summary: There's a knock on the door (always a knock on the door).
why: It's all in the ending. Just trust me.

Secret Alphabets [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] simplytoopretty
character: Chloe, Kal-El
rating: FRC
summary: He is not one to share. She is one to try.
why: Two reasons: It was written for me, and it's fantastically angsty and believable.

Star Trek

Bent Light [location: livejournal]
author: [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRM
summary: They're not real, they're only parts of his dreams that don't go away when he wakes up. That's all. They're not real.
why: It's a bit disturbing, and painful, a little creepy. Definitely a must read!

The Best Thing Since the Invention Of Interstellar Communication [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] laughter_now
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRC
summary: Bad days can become even worse when the one person you need for comfort is light-years away. But Jim Kirk is a resourceful man, and if he already can't get Leonard and Joanna together when they need each other, he's going to make sure to get them as close as possible.
why: It's all sweet and fluffy and it brought a tear to my eye. I've got a serious soft-spot for daddy!McCoy and Kirk being great with Joanna

Daddy's Little Girl [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] trek_bdsm
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/Rand
rating: FRAO
summary: Naughty Janice should have known that her Daddy would have been angry when he found out about her shameful lack of panties.
why: Good lord, but it's kinky! And well written as well. Add in the fact that it's for a pairing I don't see often, and I'm sold!

Duck Trek [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] fringedweller
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRT
summary: The explanation for and adventures of Ensign Duck.
why: It's far too cute not to be read!

Everything Old is New Again [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] djinn_fic
source: TOS
pairing: Chapel/Kirk
rating: FRAO
summary: After V'ger, old things seem new
why: It's nice, light, and fun. It had me grinning like an idiot, to be honest.

The Hard Sell [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] exiled_mind
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRM
summary: James Kirk can be very convincing.
why: It's sweet and a little angsty, but mostly sweet. Reason fifty was my favorite, of course.

In Perfect Trust [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] mijan
source: AOS
pairing: Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRAO
summary: It certainly wasn't how Leonard McCoy had ever hoped to discover Jim's more unusual sexual interests, but now that he knew, he wasn't going to let the opportunity slip for either of them... if Jim trusted him enough.
why: It's a very in-depth, thoughtful exploration of a small bit of bdsm. Just to warn, there's sounding and needleplay in this fic.

Inertia or Law(s) of Motion [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] cards_slash
source: AOS
character: Jocelyn/McCoy, Kirk/McCoy
rating: FRAO
summary: It’s not like Romeo and Juliet because nobody dies and it’s not like a romance novel because nobody’s hair is flying in the wind but somehow or another, Bones and Kirk figure out that they’re in love anyway.
why: It's long, slow, and angsty as hell, but when it gets there, it's hot as can be.

Kal'i'farr [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] medie
source: AOS
pairing: Spock/T'Pring
rating: FRT
summary: looking at her in the faint light of Earth's moon, he believes that she is unparalleled and he has done her a great disservice.
why: This one could make me ship this couple so hard. It's written so beautifully, and it just seems natural and right.

Not the Desert, Not Repenting [location: dreamwidth]
author: [dreamwidth.org profile] igrockspock
source: AOS
pairing: Amanda/Sarek
rating: FRM
summary: Sarek and Amanda, alone in a moment of the night. Inspired by the Mary Oliver poem "You do not have to be good / you do not have to walk on your knees / for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting./ You only have to let the soft animal of your body / love what it loves."
why: You can almost feel Sarek subtly changing his mindset to fit around Amanda. It's one of those small things that makes your breath catch.

Of All the Gin Joints in All the Towns [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] djinn_fic
source: AOS
pairing: Chapel/Spock!Prime
rating: FRM
summary: A Vulcan on the hunt is an impressive thing. Also hopefully funny.
why: It's cracky, and funny, and even a bit sweet. Spock!Prime deserves some lovin!

Spell [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] izzyfics
source: AOS
pairing: Chapel/Spock
rating: FRM
summary: Nay, hush, my sister:
I ate and ate my fill,
Yet my mouth waters still
[Goblin Market - Christina Rossetti]
why: It's creepy and dark and Spock comes off as very controling and cold, which makes this perfect, IMO.

Until He Says you're Not [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] tristesses
source: AOS
pairing: Amanda/Sarek
rating: FRAO
summary: It is less than a romance, more than an arrangement, and something like a courtship, all conducted under the watchful gaze of the Terran Empire.
why: It's twisted and so very not nice as anything in the mirrorverse should be, yet it's still so very lovely.

Whither Thou Goest [location: livejournal]
author: [livejournal.com profile] medie
source: AOS
character: T'Pring
rating: FRC
summary: For this moment she will honor Amanda's way and not her own.
why: You read this, and you will start to fall for T'Pring if you haven't already. What I really love about this is the closeness that T'Pring and Amanda shared. Beautiful!

Again, if you have a story you think I'd love, feel free to leave a link here.

Making a Loud Noise Until Rescued

"I thought," said Piglet earnestly, "that if Eeyore stood at the bottom of the tree, and if Pooh stood on Eeyore's back, and if I stood on Pooh's shoulders----"

"And if Eeyore's back snapped suddenly, then we could all laugh. Ha ha! Amusing in a quiet way," said Eeyore, "but not really helpful."

"Well," said Piglet meekly, "I thought----"

"Would it break your back, Eeyore?" asked Pooh, very much surprised.

"That's what would be so interesting, Pooh. Not being quite sure till afterwards."
